The Bungee Cord Stool. Designed by Mike Montgomery & Ben Paik | Modern Builds
Pinterest 2 Stool.jpg

Earlier this year I met Ben Paik, who I designed and built this stool with.  He builds things out of skateboards and made a similar stool out of broken boards. Some similarities are the tree legs, and the general shape and dimensions of the seat. It is different, though, in that the plywood seat is scooped out to be a little more comfortable and to show off the plywood layers. On top of that, the legs don't have a wedge, so I used bungee cords as a way of keeping tension on the legs and glue joint.

It was a fun, simple build. quite a few people were able to get their hands on it and all pitched in design ideas. There's not going to be much of a step by step on this one... more of a watch and enjoy. If you are interested in building something similar feel free to send me an email or an Instagram DM with any questions.

STUFF I USED:

3/4" Plywood

Wood Glue

1 1/4" Dowels

36" Bungee Cords
